Perm
Perm is one of the largest cities of the Urals region, situated at the foot of the Urals Mountains and at the banks of the Kama River, the forth largest river in Europe. The city has unique location at the border of European and Asian parts of the Eurasia continent. Perm was founded in 1723 as a settlement for workers, but it developed so rapidly, that soon it became the center of Perm region. Today Perm is the large administrative, industrial, scientific and cultural center, located on the point of crossing of important transportation and communication ways. Perm is also an important seaport. Perm is famous for its cultural traditions. The city boasts professional theatres, interesting museums and exhibition halls, important historical and architectural monuments. Perm ballet, wooden sculpture collection and miniature books are outstanding features of the city.
